Opened on the 5th May 1865, home to traditional seaside amusements. In world war one, 200 men were billeted at the pier and in world war two the pier became HMS Barbara, a royal navy observation station.

Hotham Park is an area of 22 acres located close to the hotel. With wildlife, boating lake, park café, miniature railway and play park for children there is plenty to do. Also located in the park is ‘wild forest falls crazy golf course’ fun for all ages!
With around 10,000 visitors a year, the Museum is a popular attraction. Exhibits include displays of vintage cameras, fossils, an Edwardian kitchen and the story of Bathing Machine Proprietor Mary Wheatland. The Ron Simpson Wireless Collection is named after a former Curator with a passion for old radios who bequeathed his own extensive collection to the Museum.
